These were in ideal condition, true to size, & as well made as any Birkenstocks. I attempted them on immediately on carpet, knowing that Birkenstocks need a few days of breaking in before they fit one's foot like a glove. Regrettably the Gizeh toe piece -- a thick black plastic strap -- is uncomfortably thicker than the Birko-flor toe piece on my favourite Birkenstock Mayari sandals. Also, the thong didn't appear to be holding the shoe on well; birkenstock gizeh women kept bending & letting my toes come up past the toe piece. Perhaps birkenstock gizeh women is the patent ""leather."" Perhaps I am not hip . Anyway, back they went.
